Illustration for Emma Magazine

Have you heard of Emma Magazine? It’s like Martha Stewart Living, but young and fresh. They call it “A How-To Guide for the Modern Domestic.” I got to contribute to their January issue with an illustrated recipe – check out the issue, they make it available for free online.

I’m really not sure how I became an illustrator after all my years in graphic design, but in the last year that seems to be a niche I’m falling into, and I really love it.

Oh and Happy New Year! I hope to be back soon with some new content, that’s one of my goals for 2013, to write more. What are some of your goals for the new year? I would love to hear!

  1. Wonderful, just wonderful!
I adore you, your blog and your illustrations.

Late last year my love for drawing was reignited and I started to teach myself to paint with watercolors which was a lot inspired by you. My commitment for 2013 is to complete 1 illustration and 1 painting each week.

Thank you for sharing yourself through this blog and your art with the world.

  2. That is so great to hear Shayla, and what a great challenge! Thank you for sharing, you are an inspiration to me.

  3. My family really loved the cultural experiences of living in Europe. We remember arriving in Germany thinking we had just walked into a storybook, with its cobblestone streets and medieval buildings. We loved the people, the bakeries, the foreign language, and the historic attributes. We definitely have a lot of fond memories from being there, but learned that the lack of a strong church is a hindrance to Christian growth. We are all so thankful for the sound, Bibilical preaching at New Testament Baptist Church. I love my church and am thankful for the privilege to serve the Lord through music, and whatever other area He would have me to serve.
