Inspired

July 22, 2010

Today is the first day I actually have felt inspired to write on this blog. It was this photo that did it.

{ found via poppytalk }

I love this photo — the mood it creates, a story without words. The harrowing waters appear haunted and nudge the imagination of the mysteries that lie in the depths below.

It’s interesting how you can be going about life, seemingly mundane, and all of a sudden inspiration hits you when you weren’t expecting it.  This season of life I’m in right now, where dirty diapers from tiny bottoms and needy cries consume my day, it’s nice to know the creative part of me isn’t dead…it’s just hibernating for a while. Percolating. I’m finding myself with lots of time to think and less time to DO. So that results in a lot of ideas. And I can’t wait to share them.

What is inspiring you today?

  2. Thanks, Evie — I needed to hear that. These days, my writing creativity is supressed as I’m writing for a power magazine. But I have those moments when I hear certain lyrics of a song or sense something great from God in prayer when I am filled with creativity! God is a creative God, and He made us to be creative too. Thanks for the reminder:)

  4. a very late congrat from me! happy you made it so well, i read all through your report and i was very surprised about the term VBAC and that my effort to go through it eleven years ago is apparently a controversial issue. i wasn’t told about special risks and about a possible rupture, i was competely ignorant about the special situation. nevertheless is a was a nightmare, at least the last few – but never ending – of the 27 hours of labor with just a short epidural. i would not want to repeat that experience. thank you for your honest report and cheers from ireland, eliane

  5. Thanks Mandy and Lindsay for your comments!

    Thank you Eliane! Yes, it’s hard to believe that it’s still such a closed door for many women who are perfectly capable of giving birth naturally. I feel fortunate to have been in the right place to do so!
