I recently stumbled across this photo of a hand-crafted mobile made from some branches, silver wire and paper that’s been cut into star shapes. This idea is so fresh and unique and would add a lot of drama to a holiday table. A New Years Eve party would be a perfect setting for it. There are also many different ways to add flair: Spray paint the branches gold or silver, use colored or patterned paper, or use different shapes for the hanging ornaments.

I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday filled with joy, love, and giving! I’m happy to be getting back in the groove of things but still enjoying an easy pace before the New Year hits.
I tried out this craft from Martha Stewart Living and wanted to share the results. These salt and pepper shakers were painted for my mother to match her other red table accessories. We used them for our Christmas Eve dinner, and they fit in nicely with the festive theme. They were plain white porcelain shakers from Pottery Barn, but really any kind will do as long as the surface is smooth. It is such a fun and easy project, and I hope to make myself some hand painted porcelain to enjoy on my holiday table next year.

Beauty can certainly be found on eBay in these Vintage Noritake Salt Pepper Shakers. These caught my eye because of the gold (I’m really into gold right now) flower design on the silky smooth opalescent surface. So elegant and beautiful.

Remember making dioramas in elementary school? I do, and I loved created a mini three dimensional world of my own creation. Imagine my happiness when I found these fancy Tatebanko Paper Diorama Kits.
